Theatre Technician

About the Role
Nursing Australia is seeking experienced and reliable Theatre Technicians to support surgical teams across hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area. This role is ideal for technicians who are detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to maintaining high clinical and safety standards within operating theatres.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain operating theatres before, during, and after procedures
- Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and prosthetics are cleaned, checked, and correctly set up
- Assist clinical staff with positioning equipment and maintaining a sterile environment
- Monitor stock levels and report equipment or supply issues
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and WHS requirements
- Accurately complete documentation related to theatre procedures and equipment use
About You
- Certificate III or IV in Operating Theatre Technology (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working as a Theatre Technician (public or private hospital settings desirable)
- Sound knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Professional, reliable, and flexible with shift availability (including rotating rosters)
